Frequently Asked Questions

  • We are a veteran owned and operated whole bean coffee roasting company that specializes in all thing’s coffee and aviation.
  • The Ready Room is an iconic place in all military aviation units. It is the central location where everything and anything can happen, and where discussions of all makes and models are shared. It is a place for banter, shenanigans, and where the infamous “word” is often passed. It is where the heart and soul of every military aviation unit resides, and where Ready Room Coffee is flowing, 24/7.

“The funny thing about a ready room is that you get attached to the hole. As much as you are attached to the ship. It’s more than sentiment. It’s an urge for protection. The loneliest feeling in the whole of a carrier pilot’s world is when he’s at sea with the gas running low, and he can’t see his carrier. You think of the ready room then, and the noisy guys who make it the most desirable place in the world. It’s your office, you live in it, it is the big thing in your life. […] You sweat and worry in it, and grouse and argue, and you get mad at it when you can’t hear yourself speak because everyone is yelling at once, but you’re deeply attached to the place.”

—Tommy Booth, “Wildcats” Over Casablanca, WWII Fighter Pilot

  • We source our beans from fair trade farms in Central and South America.
  • We offer 12 oz and 5 lb bag options. Our 12 oz bags have a little extra room, so we’ve decided to throw in a couple extra ounces just for fun. So, each 12 oz bag you order will be closer to 13-14 ounces. Our 5 lb bags are 5 lbs. Basic math 101.
  • Everyone in the military and civilian aviation communities, as well as any human being that simply enjoys a fantastic cup of coffee.
  • Our coffee is of the highest quality you can find on the market, and if you don’t like it there is probably something wrong with you. Just kidding! But seriously.
  • Our beans are roasted by pilots and friends of pilots, so you know they have been treated with the utmost responsibility and attention.
  • You will be supporting veterans and their families, and who doesn’t want to be a part of that.
  • Why wouldn’t we? I mean, seriously. Anyone who knows anything about the culture of aviation knows that an above average sense of humor is required. Everyone is fair game, so standby.
  • Yup. Except for the ones that aren’t cool; they are strange rangers and we do not associate with them.
  • Our VIP program is where you can order a specific roast just for your unit, company, or team. We will make a specific roast recipe just for you that only you can purchase; it will not be available publicly. We work with you to design a name and label that connects with your audience. Then, we roast your coffee, ship it to you, then you drink it and be happy. Please email us directly if you are interested. The process is simple and fun.
  • We sure do, standard shipping rates apply.
  • The safest option for you and society in general is to sign up for a coffee subscription and coffee will arrive at your door on the reg just like magic. No follow-on orders required.
  • However, if a subscription is not the best option for you and your family, we recommend placing a new order when you have a 3-5 day supply of coffee remaining. This will prevent any days without coffee and mitigate any outbursts, loss of sanity, or general anger that will likely occur should you run out of coffee.
  • Easy, hit the LOGIN/CREATE ACCOUNT tab and fill in your information. Then, coffee will magically arrive at your door at the exact time of your choosing without requiring any additional work on your part. Magic.
  • If by “work” you mean drinking coffee, bullshitting, and crushing 12-14 hours of cowboy time per day, the pilots carry the torch. However, if you are talking about  12 on 12 off turning wrenches, replacing parts, and fixing the aircraft that the pilots have utterly abused, the maintainers keep the train on the tracks and are the backbone of every aviation unit.
  • We currently do the majority of our shipping through USPS and UPS.
  • Shipping rates vary based on the size, weight, and delivery address of the package. We ship from Charlotte, NC, so places like California and Hawaii have higher rates. Locations that are geographically closer have lower rates. Additionally, the shipping rate eye chart is painful to look at and we recommend never googling it, ever. You will never get back those moments of your life and the migraine you will experience afterwards cannot be cured by Motrin horse pills.
  • Easy, just buy over $75.00 worth of coffee and swag and we will cover the shipping
  • 2 – 5 business days is our goal.
  • When grinding your beans, it is roughly a 1 to 1 ratio. So, 1 oz of whole beans will yield 1 oz of ground beans. You can expect 1 solid cup of amazing coffee per one ounce of beans. However, some people prefer ¾ ounce of beans for their coffee; it’s really up to you. So, for all the math majors, you can expect 12-13 cups per individual bag, and around 80 cups per 5-pound bag. Enjoy!
  • First off, we recommend seeing a psychiatrist. Second, if you are not 100% satisfied with our coffee, we will refund your order 100%, no questions asked.
  • We recommend you consult someone who is qualified to offer rational life guidance on this question, i.e. not a pilot.
  • You will receive a confirmation email after you place your order online that will contain your carrier and tracking information. Easy day.
  • Send us an email immediately and we will get the correct order shipped out ASAP. No need to return anything, hold what you got.
  • There are a variety of options to brew coffee. We recommend purchasing a $15,000 espresso machine and treating yourself to some high-quality espresso 3 – 4 times a day. However, if draining your kids’ college fund to purchase an espresso machine isn’t your thing, you can also grind your coffee and prepare it as a French press, pour over, or through your traditional drip coffee maker as well.
  • We recommend an airtight container out of the sunlight. A cabinet or drawer will do just fine.
  • It’s all based on the roasting process. The longer you roast a coffee the darker it gets.
  • Our home base is located in Charlotte, NC.
